8.21.11 DW/Drum Channel Visit
Recently, Peter spent a day at the DW Drum factory in Oxnard, California.

A veteran of the DW factory tour, Peter couldn't resist walking the factory yet again! He spent time talking to various DW personnel, including Rich Sikra, Director of Operations/R&D. Peter made recommendations relating to various DW drums and accessories - and Rich demonstrated some of his latest inventions!

Terry Bozzio stopped in to say "hello" and play his amazing DW kit! Then, Peter recorded a spot for Drum Channel! Very fun!

4.25.11 The Peter Erskine New Trio Releases "Joy Luck"

The Peter Erskine New Trio represents the latest evolution in Peter's musical journey exploring the more intimate realms of improvised music. Pianist and arranger Vardan Ovsepian may prove to be the hottest jazz keyboard discovery in a long time, while electric bassist Damian Erskine (Peter's nephew) brings new luster to the family name.

With gorgeous graphics by designer Bob Smith, "Joy Luck" is a joy to behold and hear. The album sports originals, plus covers of tunes by Vince Mendoza, Bob James and Jerry Goldsmith. The album's single is "Joy Luck Club," penned by Peter and it features all three players, including Erskine's marimba-playing debut!

Like other Fuzzy Music releases, the audio quality is superb and the music is fresh. While the esthetic standard is uncompromising, this will prove to be one of the more listener-friendly Fuzzy titles.

  Standards Nominated for a Grammy!
Says Peter about this great accomplishment:

"Alan Pasqua and I are still both truly thrilled. My wife Mutsy and I are both equally thrilled to have seen an artist-owned label get invited to sit at the big labels' dinner table. And while we are sad that Dave Carpenter is no longer here to enjoy this moment and to make more music with us, we are happy that his brilliant work in this last trio recording had the chance to be recognized bfor a Grammy Award and to reach so many more listeners' ears."

You can listen to tracks here. If you like it, please consider purchasing a copy in the Fuzzy Music Store.

Thank for listening - and for your support!
